Hebrew education, renewed.

The Hebrew Statist education system is the largest in Israel, yet it faces a crisis of confidence, identity, and support. The Hebrew Statist Education Council was founded to meet this moment: to restore pride in public education, to articulate a clear cultural identity, and to place Hebrew learning at the center of connection in a divided society. The aim of this project was to create a brand identity that embodies this mission and moves the conversation forward.

Language as a cultural bridge.

The Council made a strategic choice to pursue a bold design direction – one that would stand apart in the public sphere while reflecting the depth of its mission. At its core is the idea of Hebrew as a cultural bridge: the living language that has united Jewish communities across time, place, and perspective. This became the foundation for a brand identity that is both rooted in heritage and forward-looking, giving the Council a visual voice that feels relevant, confident, and true to its role in Israel’s educational and cultural landscape.

Hebrew symbols, bold identity.

Visually, the identity draws on the graphic character of Hebrew to create richness and distinction. Typography –inspired by the materiality of letterpress– is stretched and layered to suggest movement and possibility, while punctuation and diacritical marks, reinterpreted from ancient Hebrew traditions, become the building blocks of icons, grids, and compositional systems. These elements bring rhythm and energy to the brand, while archival photography connects the present to the legacy of Israeli public education. Together with a bold color palette, the result is a design language that is versatile, inclusive, and proud – a clear statement that Hebrew state education matters.
